What do you do with a foundation?
If you want to know how ’58 Foundations came to be recognized by Inc. as one of “The Most Successful Companies in America,” we’ve created a timeline of the company’s milestones for you.
Three dates standout to us:
1958
The company was founded.
2019
Three industry experts (who you’re about to meet) forge a partnership to rebrand and reboot the 60-year-old company.
Today
Today you won’t find a company more dedicated to providing the highest-quality basement waterproofing, crawlspace encapsulation, foundation repair, and mold removal solutions.
TIMELINE
1930 The founder develops the first technique for waterproofing basements from the inside using a drain tile and gravel approach.
1958 We officially open for business.
1966 Receive our first patent on our inside drain system of gravel in a trench, one-foot pipe sections, and weep holes in the cement block.
1974 We partner with AB Chance, America’s oldest steel piering manufacturer to begin structural repair services, bringing two of the country’s oldest foundation companies together.
1977 We begin to waterproof crawlspaces with a similar drain tile system as used in the basement.
1980 Together with General Tire Company/Plastics Div., we develop a unique wall sealer, specifically engineered for waterproofing.
1982 Together with B.F. Goodrich, we develop our first sub-floor drain system – the result of nearly 30 years of research and development.
1986 We receive our second patent for our sub-floor drain system.
1987 Issued U.S. Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Certification on our sub-floor drainage system.
1993 We begin encapsulating crawlspaces to lower relative humidity and moisture problems. Making homes healthier and more energy efficient.
1999 We introduce state-of-the-art non-clogging features and unique “air gap” engineering. Our sub-floor drainage channel is now the industry’s strongest, most water removing, and only self-cleaning drainage channel on the market.
